We recommend 3- 4pkts of new mother maternity pads, with at least one in your hospital/birthing centre bag.

Most women bleed heavily from 1 - 5 days after birth, needing up to 6 changes per day. After this time, you may continue to bleed for up to 3 weeks, every woman is different.
After 5 days, only 3 - 4 changes per day should be needed as it will lessen and you can start wearing a normal pad.

Tampons will be uncomfortable after birth, only pads will be suitable. They can feel like a real comfort.

We recommend spraying them with calendula, witchazel or other healing herbs that your naturopath may recommend first to assist your skin healing before wear.

You can also warm in the sun or cool them in the fridge giving you the added benefit of temperature relief in the post-partum period if you have experienced a tear or abrasion during childbirth - all the while efficiently absorbing post-natal bleeding.
