Cotton Nappies - Choosing a Waterproof Cover
When choosing cotton nappies for your baby, it is very important to choose Cotton rather than polyester or other synthetic fabrics.
The reason is breathability. Choosing Cotton Nappies ensures that your baby's skin can breathe while still protecting clothing. A waterproof outer pant is often needed around your cotton nappies to ensure waterproofing for clothing and bedding, but some waterproof fabrics are better than others.
Stick to nylon or polyfleece and always avoid plastic and pvc. These
latter fabric render your cotton nappies non-breathable as the air is
trapped by the non-breathable cover.
Nylon and Polyfleece usually have a good level of breathability. Check with your manufacturer or retailer.
