Amber Necklace for Baby

Parents in Europe commonly purchase amber necklaces for babies and they are now available for the many parents in Australia who seek them.

The necklaces are used for helping to relieve teething pain but are not meant for chewing. The amber is not a stone so soft and can break if chewed.

In Rudolf Steiner philosophy Amber is said to help strengthen life forces in a child.

As amber is a resin, not a stone, it is light and absorbs heat, and can help to relieve inflammation in a child who is teething. It is also believed to have a positive effect on the blood stream.

They come in 3 colour combinations: Dark Honey, Light Honey or a Mix of Light and Dark colours. The Honey necklace is pictured on our cute baby photo here.

The beads are individually knotted so that if the necklace breaks (and it will break if the need arises, such as if it is caught on something) you should only lose one bead. Our amber necklaces has a safe and easy to use Amber screw-on clasp.

Each necklace varies in length but the average is 33cm. They are suitable from 0 - 5 yrs, fitting these ages easily. Adults have been known to wrap them around their wrists twice for a lovely bracelet too! But the success of this depends upon your personal wrist size.

How Does it Work?

When worn close to the skin, the baby’s body temperature helps release healing oils from the amber, which is then absorbed into the blood stream. Unlike teething gels, powders or pain relief syrups, a traditional amber necklace imported from the Baltic region are a non-invasive and side effect free remedy for the pain and complications of teething. Amber's anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties are also recognized by allopathic medicine. In some European countries, you will find amber teething necklaces sold in local pharmacies. Pharmacists and doctors have long known about the healing properties of amber which include calmative, analgesic, antispasmodic, expectorant, and febrifuge (anti-fever) functions.,
