the hug-a-bub® baby carrier
The makers of hug-a-bub® understand why babies need to be held and they know how hard it has become for parents in our culture to meet this need alone. They have designed a sling that actually makes it more convenient to wear your baby as you go than to continually stop what you are doing to push the pram or bounce the bouncer.
what is a hug-a-bub®?
The hug-a-bub® is a wrap-around, soft-cotton sling that holds your baby close to your heart, so they feel hugged even though your hands may be busy doing other things.
The hug-a-bub®, unlike most other pouches, is not a fixed structure. It has no complicated clips or buckles and is made from many metres of stretch cotton and employs a very simple ‘tie-on’ method.
the stretchy nature of our fabric, combined with the easy tying technique, beautifully accommodates your baby’s size and your body shape, resulting in a flexible, secure and extremely comfortable carrier.
positions
hug-a-bub® has 4 different carrying positions offering a versatility which enables you to meet the different moods and needs of your baby, from prematurity through to toddler-hood.
 |
It is a definite favourite. This vertical chest-to-chest position is wonderful for settling babies, bonding, and relieving the symptoms of colic and reflux. (Suitable for premies – 18 months).

 |
This is a horizontal position, wonderful for ‘hands free’ breastfeeding and sleepy newborns. (Suitable for premies - 4 months)

Is a face out vertical position, which is great for the active baby that wants to see the world. It is slightly less comfortable for the wearer due to the movement of the baby’s weight away from your body, we recommend this one for shorter carrying periods. Not suitable for tired babies. (Suitable for 4-12 months) |

 |
A variation of ‘heart to heart’ that allows older babies to have their upper body free from the straps, creating a less restrictive hold. If babies fall asleep in this position, you have the option to tuck their arms back under the straps for extra support. (Suitable for 4mths- 3 years) |

sizes
HUGGABLE This is definitely the most popular size of all. A versatile size that fits 95% of all our customers.
It fits all sizes for SMALL women to EXTRA LARGE man. example: UNIVERSAL – small, medium, large, extra large AUSTRALIAN WOMAN – size 8 up to size 18 UK / USA WOMAN – size 32 – up to size 40
VERY HUGGABLE For really tall people or those very huggable people who wear an XX LARGE clothing.
For most cases if there is a large difference between the partners sizes ie: Medium Mum, XXL Dad we generally recommend that they buy the HUGGABLE hug-a-bub®. It is much easier for the dad to leave the tie of the hugabub around his back (if it is a little short), THAN it is for the mum to cope with metres of fabric left over dangling in front of her.
If on the other hand one partner was XL and the other XXXL, we would suggest this size. example: UNIVERSAL –XX large, XXX large AUSTRALIAN WOMAN – size 18 up to 22 UK / USA WOMAN – size 40 up to size 44
EXTREMELY HUGGABLE Every now and again we will get a request to fit an extremely huggable person… so we have designed the EXTREMELY HUGGABLE® just for them.
However, If only one partner is a EXTREMELY HUGGABLE and the other is a HUGGABLE, we would always recommend that you buy BOTH SIZES in this case, as the huggable sized partner would get lost in the extra metres of fabric wrapped around them. example: UNIVERSAL – xxx large and over AUSTRALIAN WOMAN – size 22 and over UK / USA WOMAN – size 44 and over
MOST COMMON SIZING QUESTION Q: I am dress size 12-14 and my husband has a 44 chest. We need to be sure that we order the right size.
A: 98% of all our sales are the huggable size. You see there is no fixed structure, just a long piece of fabric which ties in a knot at the front of you. The fabric is designed to stretch so after you wear it, it will accommodate a lot bigger size. Generally the huggable will fit Adult sizes, SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE AND EXTRA LARGE.
This scenario is very common and we always recommend that you get the huggable size. It is much easier for your partner to leave the tie of the hug-a-bub® around his back (if it is a little short), THAN it is for you to cope with metres of fabric left over dangling in front of you. The fabric is designed to stretch so after you wear it, it will accommodate a lot bigger size... the longer you wear it, the longer it will become. A simple wash and dry will bring it back to its original length (or close to it).
