The Nature's Child Nappy has been designed with these 4 primary issues in mind. Created right here in Byron Bay, Australia.

Noah 2.5 months

When you look at the price, remember that for most babies, there is no need to buy extra covers with this nappy. We have built it in for you.

This means, that instead of having a synthetic nappy cover on the outside next to your skin [which just doesn't feel very nice] we have sandwiched the waterproof layer in between two soft layers of pure organic cotton.

We do recommend an extra cover such as wool at night time. See our nappy shop for these. wool is an ideal natural fibre for keeping the bed dry! Some babies are heavy wetters and may require an extra booster or cover during the daytime also.

Each beautiful baby is different, with their own body shape and toilet habits so you will need to get to know your baby and change their nappies, adding extra boosters or covers as required. Also, some days are just different and this can affect nappy use as well.

Features of the Nature's Nappy:

THE ALL-IN-ONE DESIGN MEANS YOU PICK UP AND USE ONE PIECE! This will be the case for most people but occasionally there a nappy won't hold it all in. As long as its occasional, this nappy will be loved.

1. The interior is made from 100% certified organic brushed flanelette. Super soft!

2. The exterior is made from 100% certified organic rib stretch. Soft and smart looking.

3. The double waterproof layer is breathable nylon.

4. The leak guards are a key feature for the success of this nappy. The soft elastised legs ensure a comfortable fit. They contain the big accidents and allow for a snug fit on your baby from the first days.

5. The booster pad is held firmly inside the nappy with velcro. This flexible design allows you to remove the nappy pad and replace it with a fresh one should your baby only have a small bowel movement.

Should the whole nappy need washing, simply replace the whole nappy with a fresh one.

Some babies wee or poo heavier than others. You may need to use an extra cover at night times. This will not apply to all babies. If you do need one, we highly recommend our woollen nappy covers, also available for viewing on this page.

WHICH SIZE DO YOU NEED?

There are two sizes of Nature's Nappy's.

Size 1 fits from newborn until 10kg or a bit more. I've had a small 14 month old in this nappy. Because a newborn baby is VERY small for the first few weeks, and some babies are smaller than others, the nature's child nappy will see too big in the first weeks. This won't be for long!
By 6 weeks, this nappy is fitting snug on most newborn babies.

Designing a nappy that will fit exactly on a newborn and still fit them by one year old is very difficult. We wanted to give you the best value! So we recommend our organic cotton terry toweling nappies for babies in the first few weeks to support your cloth nappy life.

Some babies grow into that lovely, cuddly cherub shape and have edible thighs! If this is your baby, you can purchase a size 2 nappy as young as 6 months old. Others may use a Size 2 as young as 9 months. It won't be too big and will give you great value. Look at your baby's weight and give us a quick call to purchase accurately.

There will be some babies that have thighs cuddlier than what our nappy can allow for. Please phone our staff if you are unsure. Or only purchase one size 2 to check the fit first.

Once you receive the nappy, if you feel the size is too big or too small. Simply return the nappy unused for a replacement size.

Size 2 is designed to fit 10 - 18kg. Weight is not always an accurate measure however. Size 2 is usually suitable if you are buying for a one year old or beyond but should be considered for you cherub if you are looking at cloth nappies for the first time from 4 months onwards. You may be able to start with size 2 which means you only need one nappy. Email or phone us if you are unsure.

The key to a successful cloth nappy system is having enough of everything you need and being clear about what you need to use before your baby arrives.

Will You Need Extras?

We recommend some wool covers as well as a back up for long sleeps and night times.

We recommend 12 organic cotton terry towelling square nappies as a compliment.

This quantity is usually sufficient for 1 day in the first few weeks. This is a crazy time when you are getting used to a brand new baby and a whole new lifestyle, you will use a lot more during this time. But don't worry...it changes within weeks. After a few weeks when things have settled down, a full-time pack of nappies will start to be sufficient for 2 days for most babies and up to 3 days as time goes by. It really depends on your baby's habits. You can purchase more if you don't want to wash every day.

PURCHASING FOR BABIES 1 YEAR OLD AND BEYOND

Size 2 is ideal for most babies over 1 year. If you have a child who is thin in body size [below the average] size 1 will still be sufficient. We suggest trialling one first if you are in between sizes to help you make the right choice.

The amount of nappies you need varies greatly between different children. Some babies wee heavier than others, its true! Here are two different comments Ive had using our nappy.

"Its great, it lasts all night with 2 boosters, a dri-liner and a wool cover!"

but then another " Its great in the day but not enough all night"

The truth is, there is no such thing as the perfect product that suits everyone. You simply have to try it and hope that you are part of the majority of parents who absolutely love it! Each baby does wee and poo differently. Its true! Some wee light and some wee heavy and this will definitely affect your choice and perception of a nappy.

Worried About Nappy Rash?
Always use a dri-liner to help prevent nappy rash. Nature's Child dri-liners wick away moisture from your babies skin. Great if they have a wet nappy but are deep in sleep. You don't have to worry about a thing, they will still be dry!

Worried About Washing?
Always use a Nature's Child Flushable Bio-liner. These flushable nappy liners flush away the poo with ease. Leaving you with only a wet nappy to wash. Easy!

DO NOT USE BLEACH ON THIS PRODUCT. ASK US ABOUT EARTH-FRIENDLY NAPPY SOAKERS. This product will not withstand bleach as the fabric has not been hardened with chemicals at all.

HOT TIP IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS

If you do not have great success in the first few weeks with our nappy, remember that everything is new right now and it may be worth having a break and coming back to using the nappy again at two months old when everything has settled down a bit.

Choose individual samples if you wish to experiment first or compliment these with another nappy you are using such as terry toweling cloth nappies or eco-disposables.
