The weenee pants are a great nappy cover for cloth and are unique as a disposable nappy too. Read on!

Up until now there has only really been two choices in nappies – disposable or cloth. Disposables are bad for the environment and costly; cloth well, in drought-stricken Australia they might not even be such a green option.

The weenee nappy system now provides you with a choice of both cloth and disposable as you need them.

There are three parts to the weenee system. A pant, a snap-in waterproof liner and a plastic-free flushable disposable nappy pad made from sustainable-farmed wood fluff pulp. The flushable component can be literally flushed down the toilet (thus not added to mounting landfill problems). They can even be added to garden composts (breaking down in 50-150 days!

If you prefer, simply use a cloth booster pad instead of a flushable disposable nappy.

The inner pouch is removable so less pants are needed as they do not get soiled as often. Buy your first set of pants with inner pouch included for $29.95, then buy spare pouches for only $11.95.

How Do You Use them?

You need 2 or 3 pouches to one pair of pants. This may vary slightly depending on individual preferences and babies pooh type! Let's face it, the type of pooh seems to determine the best function of any nappy!

You can use a cloth nappy or a eco-disposable weenee pad inside weenee nappy pants. Cloth Nappies can be folded into a rectangle shape, similar to a eco-disposable pad. This is a very efficient and time saving way to used cloth nappies as no pins or snappies are needed.

If a disposable better suits your needs, purchase eco-disposables by weenees and simply place a fresh disposable in the pants waterproof pouch; ensuring it is tucked completely inside. Snap fasten the inner pouch to the outer pants. Place baby's bottom in the center of the pad. Fasten to the back by pulling up and securing the Velcro waist tabs to the Velcro fastener at the back of the Weenees Pants. Nappy can also be fastened with toddlers standing.

When changing your baby, the wet pad or cloth can be taken out and replaced with a fresh one without the need to change the outer pant or inner waterproof pouch. If the inner pouch is soiled, then a fresh pouch and pad can be snap fastened in with out having to change the outer pant.

To minimise leaks it is important to get a snug fit by using the correct size. The new Weenees Pouch Pants have a stretchy waistband which does not need to be as firmly fitted as the previous Deluxe Weenees Pants design (if you are familiar with these). Check the inner waterproof pouch is snug next to the leg to help prevent leakage. If you are getting marks on babies skin from snap fasteners or the waistband, then release the tension on the waist a little. It is important to have a snug fit with the pad in skin contact to ensure good absorbency.

· For boys: make sure the penis is pointing down towards the bulky part of the pad.

· When changing, the wet pad or cloth nappy can be taken out and replaced with a fresh one without the need to change the outer pant or inner waterproof pouch. If the inner pouch is soiled, then a fresh pouch and pad can be snap fastened in with out having to change the outer pant.

· If using cloth nappies, place a stay dry flushable liner over the nappy to help keep baby dry and comfortable, and clean up of soiled nappies will be much easier.

How Many Do You Need?

If using weenees full time, you need Four Weenee Nappy Pants and an extra Four Pouches. This gives you a total of eight nappy pants in theory which should be sufficient. If this is not enough for your baby or you prefer to have more rather than sufficient, another one or two pants would be a good idea.

If using weenees part time, half this amount is fine. If you are not sure what you need, try our sample pack first.
