What's your baby drinking from?
Have you noticed the re-emergence of articles about safe drinking in the media lately? It's everywhere I look. All that 'healthy' water we have been drinking for years is not so healthy it seems, due to the transportation of water in plastic bottles.
The common concern is about one ingredient called Bisphenol A (abbreviated BPAIt is considered a dysfunctional building block to several important polymers and polymer additives. I cannot find the original source of this claim but the concern has certainly built to the extent that the claim is the basis for a number of new products for concerned parents.
Bisphenol A has become controversial because it mimics estrogen and thus could induce hormonal responses. This is of particular concern in young children. All official statements say it is safe and approved in plastic food containers. This seems reasonable. But what I cannot find official literature on is – what happens when this plastic is heated.? This is where the current health concern originates. So plastic coffee mugs, microwaving plastic, hot milk in babies bottles, warm mouths sucking…it's all got parents concerned and rightly so.
I hope you enjoy this great range of drink bottles that we have to offer you this month. As well as being safer for ourselves and our kids, what I also love about them is that the are better for the budget. Like a lot of our products we sell, the upfront cost seems high but this is very quickly saved by refilling your own bottle with filtered water instead of buying plastic bottles of water all the time. Invest in a great water filter in your home and these great drinking bottles for the whole family and you will be doing your family a great favour. For health and for finance!
What's your baby sucking on?
Nature’s Child has proudly been running our WHAT'S YOUR BABY SUCKING ON campaign with our retailers and the public for the last 24 months. So we hope you love our latest addition for your store from Denmark – THE NATURAL SOOTHER. To date, we have provided organic cotton teething toys for babies. With the BPA issue firmly on the agenda, parents are looking for alternatives to plastic for practical products and these soothers certainly do that!
Blessings to you and your families
