Our company name Hevea is from the Latin name for the rubber tree, Hevea Brasiliensis. The natural rubber it produces is the foundation of our product range. Using natural rubber, rather than synthetic rubber made from oil, acts against climate change by increasing the number of trees and cutting back on the use of fossil fuels.
FSC
All Hevea packaging is now FSC certified. The FSC trademark on paper is a guarantee that the paper (or timber) comes from a responsibly managed forest, which helps prevent deforestation and degradation. This is important for millions of people who depend on forests for their livelihoods, but of course also for the overall environment.
MALAYSIAN RUBBER BOARD
Hevea uses natural rubber tapped in Malaysia and pay a percentage of the raw rubber costs to the Malaysian Rubber board, which in return helps to create a sustainable industry by replanting rubber trees and investing in research & development towards sustaining the viability of the rubber industry in Malaysia. ORGANIC COTTON
Hevea accessories are made from pure organic cotton, which meets the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS). The cotton is grown without the use of chemical herbicides, pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and no harmful chemicals or solvents are used in the processing.
RECYCLING
Is an essential component of the Hevea operation as it is a key environmental issue. Hevea recycles all office waste as much as possible including bottles and kitchen waste. They also encourage and support manufacturers recycling efforts on their production lines by requesting ISO certification.
CO2 NEUTRAL
Hevea buys European CO2 credits to ensure all transport is carbon neutral.
